The Washington Post has reported the deadline for open enrollment in government mandated health care will be moved back from March 31st. According to the report, the revised deadline “will apply to the federal exchanges operating in three dozen states” and it will extend for a period of two to three weeks. Up until now, authorities have denied any possibility of extending the deadline.
Any extension is likely to increase enrollment by a few hundred thousand people. The problem is many experts believe that any extension will likely increase the amount of enrollees who have become recently ill, thus increasing the longer term costs for the plan.
