One thing you can count on in the DFW Metroplex is that there will be plenty of holiday events to attend in December and January – although that’s really no different than any other time of year. If you’re looking to get out of the house this holiday season and spend some quality time with your loved ones, here are a few events in the DFW area that you might like to attend:
The Nutcracker in Puppet Form – Through December 22nd
This event is held at Dallas Children’s Theater. Performances are on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. Visit www.dct.org for more information on how to get your tickets.
Santa Land in Denton, TX – Through December 28th
Grab a cup of delicious hot cocoa, enjoy the music and watch the kids slide down the snow hill (for a fee) at Santa Land. Santa and Mrs. Claus have to head back to the North Pole on the 14th, but the festivities can still be enjoyed through the 28th at Little Elm Park.
Holiday at the Arboretum – Through December 31st
Santa will be in attendance on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays along with costumed characters and a live reindeer on Saturdays and Sundays. Buy tickets to the main garden for between $10 and $15 and add the children’s garden for $3.
The Trains at NorthPark – Through January 5th
The entire family will love this train exhibit, which will benefit the Ronald McDonald House of Dallas. The entire exhibit takes up 4,000 square feet of the NorthPark Center. Visit Monday through Saturday from 10:00am to 9:00pm and 12:00pm to 6:00pm on Sundays. The Trains at NorthPark will close early on Christmas Eve (4pm) and New Year’s Eve (6pm) and will be closed on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.
